Thanks and full credits to PocketSynth Professional
user Scott
StPierre who spent much time to
create the standard piano soundsets as well as alternate sounds you find
below for PocketSynth Professional.
To install the additional sounds, just create another directory on your
handheld, extract the sound files into this directory and also copy the
files "PocketSynth.app" and "chordtypes.dat" there (from the original PocketSynth
Professional directory). In addition, you might want to create a desktop
shortcut to this second PocketSynth version and/or an entry in the start
menu. It's that simple. If you run short on memory, put everything on a
Flash card - this works as well. Now here are Scotts sounds:
Scott thought the power chords (root, 5th, and octave) created within PocketSynth
from the electric guitar sounds lack a bit power, and he re-recorded them
by hand. To use them, define a chord type "Power" in the chord editor (you
need not create any chords of this type!), and copy the files from the
archive below into the PocketSynth Professional
directory on your handheld where you already have the electric guitar sound
samples. Done! (If you want to be rigorous, define the chord type as consisting
of "1", "7", and "12").
In case you want to create your own sound, PocketSynth will work with any
wave file format (but not mp3). The only exception is when you want to
use the "Export to wave format" function, this demands that the sample
is recorded with 11025 samples/sec, 8 bit, mono. If you have questions
on how to create your sound set, just drop me a note and I'll be glad to
assist (the only condition being that I get a copy of your creation to
post on this page, with full credits to you of course!).
